In our first installment we talked about the viability of niche marketing. I think we’ve firmly established that niche marketing is a viable money making strategy but with two main caveats. The first caveat is that you need a solid promotional strategy to get indexed and ranked for your keywords and keyword phrases. The second is that it does take longer for Google to trust new sites. Why this is, we can only guess at. The cold hard truth is that we will not be able to make money instantly. This effort takes planning and determination and a bit of patience. Well, we know you have that because you are still reading, so on with it.
Selecting the Right Niche
Few things will affect your success more than niche selection. There are two main schools of thought here. I like to call them the “Popular Crowd” school of thought and the “Specialist” school of thought. Let’s talk about the “Popular Crowd” school of thought first. Read the rest of this entry »
Starting up your own internet marketing company is much easier than starting up any other type of business. In that vein, it is also much different from running another type of business. As internet marketing does take place online, there are different methods to pull in “consumers” and special ways to promote your company.
An internet marketing company is mostly a company in theory as opposed to legally, and as such it is more of a mindset than anything else. Thinking of it as a company will be far more beneficial than if you thought of it as a side activity. Treating your efforts as something of importance and not of inconsequence can also help you stay motivated. Approaching your new company with the right mindset is just as important as anything else.
Choosing your market is a huge part of jumping into internet marketing. The market will determine the amount of competition, demand, difficulty, and how likely visitors will be to click the advertisements laid throughout your site. Within markets are niches, which are the exact part of a demographic you are aiming for. For instance, within a broad market like “pet supplies”, there would be the niche “organic pet foods” or “safe rawhides”. Going for a target market as opposed to a niche will make competition tough. So while you will be more likely to get large amounts of traffic if promoted properly, you will have a long ad hard battle to the top search engine rankings.
When you are just starting your own internet marketing company, it may be best to work within a market that you know a good amount about. This way you can write your own high quality content and enjoy what you are doing. Later on down the line if you have found that your promotional strategies are working well for you, you can consider moving into different markets and niches and see how you do there with content that you have written yourself or outsourced to another writer.
As for promoting your websites, you need to be sure that you put a good amount of effort into enticing organic traffic into your website and spreading backlinks across the internet to get search engines to rank your site more highly. This is easily done by submitting articles to directories. Article directory websites allow you to submit content along with a link to your site. This pulls in real traffic and counts as a backlink towards your overall search engine placement.
Approach your internet marketing company with a business plan to make sure you keep on schedule and on point with your goals. It is all too easy to allow yourself to slip up when you are doing work solely on the internet, but it is not impossible to keep the mindset that you are building a business. Keep this mindset and your eye on the prize, and you will be well on your way to running a successful marketing company.
The search engine placement of a website will affect how much traffic it gets. The lower down on the overall search results, the less likely it will be for someone searching for information to come across your optimized website. Most SEO campaigns target potential visitors who are looking for information, as they are the most likely to click on advertisements in search of the product or service they are researching.
Everything from the way you promote your SEO campaign to the content you use will affect your search engine placement. A well-optimized website makes full use of content, tags and meta tags, and titles to get noticed by search engines and to let the people searching for their keyword to know that they have the information that they are looking for.
Proper keyword placement is a must to get noticed. Strategically placed keyword phrases within the first, last, and a few middle paragraphs within an article goes a long way, especially when paired with a title including the keyword phrase and proper tagging.
If your search engine placement is less than optimal (not on the first page) and feel your website is fully optimized after having checked over it with a fine-toothed comb, then it is time to do some advertising for your site.
Advertising, or promoting, your website is far from an unethical practice and is done by every single SEO marketer on the internet. It is an absolute must to get to the top and stay there, especially if a search engine changes its algorithm.
At first glance, promoting looks to be more for manual traffic benefit. Creating content to post on other parts of the web with links back to your website seems to be the perfect way to draw in visitors who are interested in the product or service your niche is based off of. This is true to a point, but the real gold lies in how search engines treat links coming back to a website.
Each search engine looks at how many links point towards a specific domain or URL and factors that into their ranking system. Already established and older websites will almost always automatically have a higher ranking than a new SEO site, and having links on a higher ranked can do nothing but help. There is also no such thing as too many links coming back to your campaign — but posting it on services, forums, or other websites like spam will waste your time and will not help your efforts in the least.
Making the most out of your website and promoting it properly is the best way to increase your search engine placement. Perfectly optimizing it and creating content rich content for your site and for promotional efforts will also help keep you in a good position for a long time to come, as opposed to being bumped down after the next algorithm adjustment.
Making Money Online – Niche Selection and SEO are KEY!
There are several ways to approach making money online, some of which are tried and true while others are more of a trial and error endeavor. At the head of the tried and true methods is SEO (search engine optimization) marketing, which has been a popular method of making money via the internet for quite some time. Getting into this field now is just as lucrative as ever, and you may be amazed at exactly how easy it is for the new guys to compete with the experienced marketers.
What puts some people off when it comes to getting into the SEO game is the fact that so many others are already in it. In other fields it can be tough to get in and directly compete against other larger firms, but the internet is a level playing field, meaning you can give others a run for their money. Making money online in this fashion is a direct competition against others with the same overall goal as you: To make money fast. Making the most out of the resources available to you will prove to be the key to getting to the top of the Google rankings, and to success.
The foundation of any SEO campaign is the niche your website is in. The topic or keywords in the content on your site will be dictated by your chosen niche. Starting a website without any niche in mind can lead to an unprofitable venture, as many have found out the hard way over the years. Picking a niche prior to making your site public will make it easier to write content, and will make it stronger in the Google rankings. It is impossible to become a number one search result without some sort of niche focus and strategic keyword positioning.
The niche that you choose will also play a part in how successful your attempt at making money online will be. Some niches are not as popular as others, meaning that they will not get searched for as often in Google. If the keywords you are using do not get searched for often, then you will not get many page views. Page views and their subsequent advertisement clicks are the lifeblood of any SEO campaign. Pulling in readers who will click the advertisements is the overall goal — but there are some niches and keyword combinations that will lead to wasted time and money on your part. Careful research on keywords related to your preferred niche is a must.
Aside from the content of your website itself, proper meta tagging, back linking, and other forms of promotion will boost your rankings as well. Using a strategy that combines all of these factors at once will prove to have a huge effect on your overall profits. Like with any other type of business, making money online with SEO requires some thought, time, and effort to get the most out of your endeavors.

Increasing your search engine ranking should be your very first priority in your SEO campaign. Taking a look at the top search results in your niche may make it seem impossible to even make a dent in the larger websites that are already established, but this is not the case.
SEO marketing is an even playing field for the most part, meaning that you and every other marketer in your niche all have a chance at getting to the top. The difference between campaigns that are successful and those that fail is the amount of quality content on the main website and the amount that is spread elsewhere pointing to it.
Getting your search engine ranking to the first page takes more than creating a bare bones website with no incoming links. First, the articles and other content should be compelling and informative. Every SEO guide will tell you that it must be informative, but it also must be the right mix of friendly and professional. Your content should also read as being informative instead of promotional.
Many of those just starting out in SEO fail to create compelling content and rather pander to the keyword searching needs of Google. What they do not take into account is the fact that Google will pay attention to more than just the keywords in a website’s content.
The amount of time spent on a page will factor into Google’s favor of a website, as will the amount of repeat visitors. Links coming into the website will also play a huge part its search engine rankings.
Compelling content works for you. Instead of putting extra effort towards site promotion, you can ease off and put more towards on-site content. Readers will relate to and enjoy articles that are well-written and informative than those that are not very related to the keyword phrase. The more they enjoy it, the more likely it is that they will bookmark it for later and possibly share with others. This can create backlinks that you do not have to create yourself.
No site that is freshly made should expect much traffic, which is why they should put some focus on promotional efforts in the beginning of their campaign. Keeping the promotional content of high quality can be just as helpful to you as having quality content on your own website. Pull in and hold onto traffic on both fronts to get the best results from your marketing campaign.
A combination of both outside links and good content will get your website ahead in the search engine rankings. The algorithms for Google and other search engines are always evolving, meaning that other traffic farming techniques can become obsolete. Sticking to the basics of quality on-site content and promotion will ensure that your campaign remains strong even after the biggest algorithms change.
Article Marketing Tips For Top Search Engine Results
Getting to the top of the Google rankings seems so easy until you actually try it for yourself. Optimizing your website with a good keyword density, meta tags, and quality content can only go so far. Working your way up the ranking ladder takes some effort on your part, especially if you are competing in high traffic niches. Even with article marketing tips from some of the best, you need to make the most out of your resources to reach the top.
The unique thing about competing in SEO and article marketing as a whole is the level playing field. Other websites in the same niche as you have the same advantages, as well as the same disadvantages. Aside from the content on the websites themselves, other marketers who are higher than you on the Google page rankings are most likely putting more effort towards overall promotion than you are. It’s time to change that.
If you find your website lower than the first result page, then something is either being done wrong or not at all. Putting your content rich site on the internet only goes so far, and clumsy site promotion can do more harm than good. Determining which methods work best for your niche and as a whole is what will put you on the top.
Every site that has beginner’s article marketing tips often tell you the same thing, and it can get to be confusing if you have never tried to promote your own website before.
The very first thing you need is quality content for your site. Have reliable facts with an upbeat and informative tone. Encourage your readers to embrace the product they have searched for that lead them to your site, but be sure that the facts you are stating are indeed the truth. No reader likes to get false information, and you likely do not want trouble for it later.
Promotion comes after the content. It’s imperative to do promoting yourself, as otherwise you would not be getting much or any traffic at the start. It’s not possible to spread the word by mouth, so you need to take other steps. Working links to your website into content on other sites is an effective way to drive traffic, but there is a fine line between spamming and promoting. Be sure not to cross that path.
When promoting your website, be sure to follow the following basic article marketing tips:
1. Have quality content even when promoting. This means avoiding simply linking to your website. It also means you need to keep the content driving traffic to your site on topic. Do not attempt to pull people in with a diversion. It never works out well.
2. Try to promote via websites and services with a high PR ranking. Most popular websites that run on user-driven content have a high PR ranking. Submitting promotional content to a site with a low PR ranking will not hurt your overall success, but it will not help much either. Having said that, you must include links from a variety of low PR sources because that’s what a natural profile looks like. After all, your site would stick out like a sore thumb with 100 PR7 links and nothing else.
3. Make your promotions seem natural. Coming off like you are advertising will always do more harm than good. Keeping your off-site content casual with an air of being informed will get you far more traffic than seeming like you are trying to sell the reader something.
Finding the medium between being helpful and being a salesperson can be tough at the start, but your page rankings and amount of traffic will tell you shortly thereafter how well you are doing with your article marketing. Keep an eye on your progress and always adjust your strategy if things are not turning out like you expect.
